Our Projects

Our Projects

We remove barriers and create opportunities. Bees Abroad Projects are led by the community and grown from within the community. Beekeeping is an inclusive and accessible way for communities to collaborate and learn new skills.
Following the successful completion of a foundation year, projects are supported by us for an average of three years before graduating.

The honey money will help to support the six grand-children as their parents have the same challenges as they also lost family land and independence to support the families.

  • Bensen

Beekeeping has helped me to pay my kids school fees, all the school dues, it has even helped my family buy food and land - all with beekeeping.

  • Mrs Afuape Fadilat Abosede

Thanks to Bees Abroad and Abotokio Slow Food Beekeeping Community for turning me into a Social Entrepreneur through Beekeeping.

  • Anstazia Charles

I am delighted to be part of the Jikomboe (”Self Liberation”) women beekeepers and look forward to raising capital through selling honey, and then being able to start other small businesses.

  • Mr Yuusuf

My maize yield has indeed increased and sweeter in taste since the introduction of my personal apiary.

  • Patricia

I will use my honey money from this harvest to feed my children and buy some essential items. Beekeeping is so important for us now.

Our Beekeepers

Our Beekeepers

We work with rural communities where beekeeping skills and knowledge isn't easily accessible, ensuring each project leads to enabling communities to empower themselves through sustainable beekeeping.

Each individual has the opportunity to learn, improve and grow, not only as a beekeeper but as a trainer for the next generations, creating a sustainable future for their community.
